Exchanging Links
It’s very important to exchange links with other sites and blogs. Once you’ve decided on your topic or niche, do some research and find some other sites and blogs who are writing on the same topic. Keep track of these sites. Because later on, when you have 30 or 40 articles, your going to want to exchange links with these people.
High ranking incoming links are your main priority. But having links going out to high ranking sites will help as well. Exchange links with anyone and everyone in your niche. Although, beware of the “bad sites.” You don’t want to link to spammy, adult or questionable sites. Stay away from link farms as well. You only want good sites with good content…just like Google.
Also, a good way to get juice is to go to other blogs in your topic and post in their comments. Don’t just spam your link, actually contribute to what they are talking about.
Another place is message boards. Same goes here, no spamming. Actually contribute to the conversations. If you add good, intelligent content on message boards and other blogs, chances are people will want to read your stuff.
Google thinks that if you have a lot of links to your site, you must be important, and will bump up your ranking. It takes a while, and is also hard work, but exchanging links does pay off.
Later on, I will post a nice email that I use to contact other sites for exchanging links.
