I've recently converted all of my WordPress sites into tightly niched social networking sites. Which I'm hoping will be more successful than just a blog. I'm hoping these sites can be a myspace for each particular niche.
The hard part is, getting things rolling. I have the sites built and I have a ton of content, but I just don't have warm bodies. Right now if you visit the site, it looks busy, until you go to the message board. Nothing happening. read more »
Alll content must be original. If not, you must provide a link back to the original content.
There shall be no swearing, violence or adult content posted to this site.
Click on Create Content
Click on Audio
Enter the Title of your Audio in the Title field
Enter a description of the file in the Body field
Click the browse button and find the file on your computer
Click Submit to publish your Audio file
If you are cutting and pasting information from another site or a word document, you may have to strip the formatting
The best way to do this is to use Notepad (Start, Programs, Accessories, Notepad)
If you cut from the website, paste into notepad
Then cut from notepad into the blog you will remove all formatting
The only time you'll need to do this is when you are cutting and pasting from a site or document that has large or irregular fonts
Highlight the word or phrase you would like to be a link
Click on the link icon in the text editor
Enter the link URL
Select a target option and title if you wish
Click on Insert
It is very important to have the keywords in the proper place when writing a blog post. Keywords are the words that people will be using to find your article when searching on the search engines.
So for instance if I was writing an article on Adsense. Adsense would be my keyword phrase. When you write an article there are 4 major places to put my keywords:
Title
First Sentence
Sprinkled throughout your article

Click on Create Content
Click on Blog Entry
Put in your title, pick a Topic and put in your text for the post
Down below the body there is a File Upload link
Browse to the file on your computer
Upload all of the files you want to include (notice below each file you've uploaded it gives you a URL)
Now scroll back up to the body of your post
Click on the Tree (Insert Edit Image)
Insert the URL of the file you want to include
Change any alignment, etc.
Do this for each file
Click Submit when you are done
Click on Create Content
Click on Event
Enter the Event start and end dates
Enter the Title of your Event in the Title field
Assign your Event to a Topic
Add a description of the event in the Body Field
Click Submit to publish your Event to the calendar
Click on Create Content
Click on Forum Topic
Enter the Forum Topic in the Subject field
Assign your Forum Topic to a relevant forum
Add an entry to go along with your Forum Topic in the body field
Click on Submit to Publish your forum topic
Click on Create Content
Click on Poll
Select a Topic for your Poll
Enter your Poll Question in the Question field
Enter your answer choices in the Choies field
Click Submit to publish your poll
Click on Create Content
Click on Image
Put in a Title for the Image
Browse to the image on your machine
Make sure to Select Screenshots from the Image Galleries dropdown list
Put in a description of the image in the body field
Click Submit to Publish your image
You should now be able to see your image in the gallery
Click on My Account
Click on Edit
Change Username, Email and Password
Upload Your picture
Click on Submit when Done
Click on Personal Information
Fill in Web Address, Company Name, Job Title, Phone Number and some information About Yourself if you wish
Click Submit when done
Your profile is all of the personal information you want to share with the world. Put in as much as you like. Your personal information will be displayed next to every article that you write.
Click on Create content
Click on Blog Entry
Put in the title of your entry in the Title field
Type or Cut/Paste your information in the Body field
Assign your post to a Topic
Click on Submit to publish your Blog Entry
